Language Library: Unexpected Amount in Paycheck

Here are some sample letters to send to existing babysitting clients to alert them to a change in babysitting fees. The Language Library is a perk available to Supporting Members.

When your check is unexpectedly lower than expected what do you say to your boss?

Here is a sample text to send to your employer(s) when your paycheck is not the amount you expect, whether lower (image example) or higher.

MomBoss and DadBoss,

I notice a discrepancy in my check this [pay period]. Usually it’s [amount] but this week it’s [current amount]. Could you help me figure this out?

*your name*

I did notice that I was paid for [smaller number] hours instead of [expected number]. I was under theimpression that I am to keep [regular schedule] available for you all and would be paid for that time. Can we please clarify this detail? I just want to be on the same page. Thanks!
